- Note to Potential Translators
- =============================
-
- Included in this archive are 4 files to assist you with carrying out
- translations of Scion and ScionPrefs into the language of your choice:
-
- Scion.cd -----------+
- template.ct --------+---- The "language" files for Scion
-
- ScionPrefs.cd ------+
- sptemplate.ct ------+---- The "language" files for ScionPrefs
-
- If you would like to translate Scion and ScionPrefs into new languages,
- please contact me on either "rakins@bcleng.co.nz" or "rakins@bclnz.co.nz"
- or by post to Robbie Akins, 5 Austin Street, Wellington 6001, NEW ZEALAND.
-
- TIPS:
- ====
-
- (1) Read the notes in each of the ".ct" files.
- (2) Translate Scion (template.ct) first. A lot of the translations in
- ScionPrefs are the same, and can simply be copied from the Scion
- translations.
- (3) Use "CatComp" (from Commodore) to compile the .catalog files. Most
- of the "public domain" equivalents I have come across have bugs, and
- do NOT do the compilations correctly. (They seem to miss out large
- sections!) Contact me if you have trouble sourcing "CatComp"; I can
- point you in the right direction.
- (4) "Catcomp" itself also has problems!!! I use version 38.16 on my A3000
- and it's fine. However, the newer version 38.21 doesn't work! But, some
- of my translators find that V38.16 won't work, but V38.21 does!!!
- Figure that one out!
- (5) LATE NEWS: I have just received "catcomp" V39.5. It works on my A3000
- once again! Hopefully it will now work on all machines?
- (5) Do NOT modify "Scion.cd" or "ScionPrefs.cd"!!!! These are my "master"
- files.
-
- P.S. Volunteers to translate the "Scion.guide" on-line help file would
- be VERY welcome too!
