  4. Included in this archive are 4 files to assist you with carrying out
  5. translations of Scion and ScionPrefs into the language of your choice:

  7.     Scion.cd -----------+
  8.     template.ct --------+---- The "language" files for Scion
  9.  
  10.     ScionPrefs.cd ------+
  11.     sptemplate.ct ------+---- The "language" files for ScionPrefs
  12.  
  13. If you would like to translate Scion and ScionPrefs into new languages,

  20. (1) Read the notes in each of the ".ct" files.
  21. (2) Translate Scion (template.ct) first. A lot of the translations in
  22.     ScionPrefs are the same, and can simply be copied from the Scion
  23.     translations.
  24. (3) Use "CatComp" (from Commodore) to compile the .catalog files. Most
  25.     of the "public domain" equivalents I have come across have bugs, and
  26.     do NOT do the compilations correctly. (They seem to miss out large
  27.     sections!) Contact me if you have trouble sourcing "CatComp"; I can
  28.     point you in the right direction.
  29. (4) "Catcomp" itself also has problems!!! I use version 38.16 on my A3000
  30.     and it's fine. However, the newer version 38.21 doesn't work! But, some
  31.     of my translators find that V38.16 won't work, but V38.21 does!!!
  32.     Figure that one out!
  33. (5) LATE NEWS: I have just received "catcomp" V39.5. It works on my A3000
  34.     once again! Hopefully it will now work on all machines?
  35. (5) Do NOT modify "Scion.cd" or "ScionPrefs.cd"!!!! These are my "master"
  36.     files.

  38. P.S. Volunteers to translate the "Scion.guide" on-line help file would
  39.      be VERY welcome too!
  40.
